1. Who we are

We are TIER and we are the controller of the data captured by our CCTV systems. You can find our contact information at the top of this document. If you have any questions or requests relating to your personal information, please send us an e-mail at privacy@tier.app.

2. Why TIER uses CCTV cameras

TIER operates CCTV at our facilities for the purposes of maintaining the security of property and premises and for preventing and investigating crime.

The CCTVs are not used for any other purpose, such as to monitor the work of employees or their attendance. The location and positioning of the video cameras is not intended to cover the surrounding public space.

3. Our legal basis

We rely on our legitimate interests to install and maintain CCTV cameras.

4. Types of data captured and collected during video surveillance

The CCTVs captures visual images of persons close to the areas of interest. The areas captured by the surveillance cameras are limited as much as possible and capture only specific areas. The surveillance cameras do not film in a wide angle and are installed in such a way which does not permit employee monitoring.

5. Retention of data

The images collected by the CCTVs are only kept for 48 hours.

6. Who has access to data

Only specific, authorised TIER employees have access to the CCTV images. This data will only be accessed in the case of property damage and incidents.

7. Sharing of data with third parties

In the event of property damage and incidents, TIER reserves the right to share CCTV images with public bodies and authorities.

8. Your data protection rights

You have the right to obtain information about the data we process about you, obtain access to it, ask for it to be rectified, erased, restricted or sent to you in a common and machine-readable format, under the conditions and restrictions laid out in Chapter III of the GDPR.

Some factors may impact our ability to respond to a request. We may not be able to fulfil requests if the data has already been erased because the retention period elapsed; if other individuals also captured by the requested data and cannot be sufficiently de-identified or if there are too many people in the footage and TIER is unable to segregate you.

If you want to learn more about your rights, they are described in Chapter III of the GDPR.

9. How to exercise your rights

Please contact TIER's Privacy team via privacy@tier.app if you wish to exercise your data protection rights.

10. How to contact the appropriate authorities

If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may contact your local supervisory authority for data protection. You can find a list of German supervisory authorities here.
