How we did it?

Our journey to climate-neutral mobility

When measuring our global footprint, we included all emissions across the full lifecycle of our service - from the production and shipment of our vehicles, and over our daily operations to the recycling and reuse of our vehicles and batteries when they are decommissioned from our shared mobility service.

    Avoiding and reducing emissions

It is our goal is to reduce as much of our corporate carbon footprint as possible by constantly improving all processes and areas of our business.

  • emmisions

    Compensating our impact

Residual emissions that we cannot avoid or reduce at this stage are offset through certified carbon offset projects to achieve climate neutrality. Together with ClimatePartner, TIER is supporting forest protection and clean energy projects through our compensation efforts.

Who are our partners?

TIER was the first e-scooter provider to work with BVG Berlin, Germany's largest public transport authority. Our electric vehicles can easily be rented and returned at one of the many Jelbi mobility stations all over Berlin, thus allowing for a better connection of micro mobility and Public Transport and facilitating seamless and intermodal travel journeys within the city.

Since our launch in Munich in 2019 we have been closely working together with MVG in Munich. As the first and for a time, exclusive micro-mobility provider to partner with MVG we are working heavily on a seamless connection of both services with a joint co-branding of all our vehicles in Munich, an integration in the MaaS apps MVGO and MVGMore and various joint marketing campaigns.

We are partnering with the Austrian Railway ÖBB to promote sustainable micro mobility in smaller communities in Austria. TIER is part of ÖBB’s pilot project “360°”, introducing e-scooters in smaller communities and rural areas throughout Austria. Together, we aim to improve mobility infrastructure and reduce car dependency in small communities. We also integrated our e-scooters and e-mopeds into ÖBB’s multimodal app Wegfinder and installed TIER parking spaces next to ÖBB train stations.

The Swiss National Railway Company SBB and TIER have been cooperating closely since 2020. TIER took an active part in SBB’s national MaaS solution Yumuv, offering mobility bundles in Zurich, Bern and Basel. Coordinated parking hubs at SBB train stations support our work towards less street clutter, more safety and better availability of our e-scooters.

With Ruter, we launched our first partnership in Northern Europe. TIER has been selected as the exclusive e-scooter partner of Ruter in order to pilot new projects in the wider Oslo region. Through this partnership we were able to expand our micro mobility offers to smaller communities around Oslo and launch a pilot MaaS integration in the Ruter app.

In cooperation with DSW21, public transport subscribers in Dortmund can drive TIER vehicles without an unlock fee. Their public transport subscription number becomes a TIER voucher code for several months. We link the range of local public transport with our micro-mobility services to offer customers a complementary alternative for managing the first and last mile.
